Welcome to orpheusproject.org! We, along with co-producers Collaborative Stages are producing a series of fully-staged performances of Ricky Ian Gordon's dramatic song cycle Orpheus and Euridice for clarinet, soprano, and piano from June 2-12, 2011 at the historic Duo Theatre in New York City's East Village. Please use the tabs above to learn more about the collaborators, the piece, and how you can help bring the Orpheus Project to fruition!

Mission Statement

The Orpheus Project seeks to present Ricky Ian Gordon's dramatic song cycle Orpheus and Euridice through fully realized live performances. The Greek myth's themes of devoted love and the creation of beauty out of suffering are as relevant now as they were thousands of years ago. Gordon's contemporary setting of the Orphic tragedy, for clarinet, soprano, and piano, translates the myth's powerful lessons into a modern tale that gives both perspective and hope to the problems of our times.
