The Princess Sophia

October 2018

The Princess Sophia tells the true story of the deadliest maritime disaster in the history of the Pacific Northwest. The S.S. Princess Sophia sank on October 25, 1918 after spending almost two days stranded on Vanderbilt Reef in Lynn Canal, taking the lives of all 350 passengers with her. Orpheus Project commissioned this opera for the 100th anniversary of the disaster.
An opera in two acts by Emerson Eads and Dave Hunsaker. Conducted by William Todd Hunt and directed for the stage by Dave Hunsaker.
